Steve is currently working on his Masters of Arts in Marriage, Family and Individual Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also holds a Bachelors degree from Florida Baptist Theological College and a Master's degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years in Northern California. Steve has been a Pastor for 29 years in the local church, and volunteers as a counselor with a nonprofit organization serving women and men struggling with unexpected pregnancies.
Through various life experiences, Steve has helped people navigate family conflict, grief, premarital counseling, marital counseling, couples with anxiety, depression, relational issues, children/teens, and the emotions men may experience during unwanted or unplanned pregnancy or abortions. Throughout his training, he has learned to apply evidence-based counseling theories including, but not limited to elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with families as he seeks to help people toward physiological, psychological, social, and spiritual healing. Steve is able to integrate faith into the counseling process if the client desires.
Steve has a passion for walking alongside broken and hurting people as they grow in hope and healing. His experience in ministry has given him the opportunity to walk alongside families, couples, adolescents and children through both difficult and joyous seasons of life. As a counselor, Steve is very relational, observant, empathetic, caring, honest and kind. Steve meets people in their weakest, most difficult moments, and seeks to point them toward hope, healing, and sustainable change.
Steve enjoys singing, playing guitar and piano, working out, playing basketball, throwing the frisbee and getting to know people of all walks of life. Most of all Steve loves hanging out, traveling and just being around his favorite people...His family.
