Now Accepting Clients for late-January 2025!
Sarah is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Christian Marital, Family, and Individual Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science: Child and Family Services in 2021.
She has experience working in other cultural contexts and loves partnering with clients from varying backgrounds. She has also worked at women’s shelters and is passionate about helping women who are hurting to reclaim their voice and work towards healing. Sarah has more than a decade of experience working with kids from birth through the teenage years. In public schools, childcare, church settings, and summer camps, Sarah has spent many hours caring for children and teens and finds great joy in helping them learn and grow.
Sarah seeks to provide a warm and welcoming space for clients to safely express themselves. She has a passion for walking with clients through their struggles or suffering and endeavors to help them find hope and healing. Through empathy, gentleness, and genuine care, she strives to create a space where clients can freely express themselves and work through hard things. She desires to truly know clients and their unique stories in order to equip them with the support and resources that they desire.
Her approach to counseling incorporates multiple theories including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Recognizing that each client is unique, she tailors her approach to the needs, story, and preferences of the client. Sarah is comfortable integrating faith into counseling at the client’s request.
Sarah is committed to working with those who are hurting and is interested in counseling clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, family conflict, chronic illness, life transitions, and women's issues. She is also interested in premarital, and marital clients. As a certified Prepare & Enrich Facilitator, she loves partnering with couples as they start marriages, face challenges, or seek to strengthen their relationships. Sarah takes all ages as clients including children, teens, and adults.
In her spare time, Sarah loves crafty or creative activities. To rest she crochets, paints, embroiders, or just sits outside with a cup of chai and watches the birds.
