Rosie McMahan

Counseling Intern

Rosie is currently working on her Master’s of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Bachelor of Education in Human Development & Family Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2022. Rosie has experience in the mental health field serving an administrative role for the past few years at a local psychiatry and counseling practice.

Rosie seeks to meet her clients with authenticity and warmth. She believes mental health incorporates the full person and she utilizes client strengths in counseling. Rosie believes in the power of radical acceptance and strives to foster a safe environment where clients can explore challenges and strengths. 

​

 

She is interested in working with clients of all ages. Her areas of interest include life transitions, anxiety, eating disorders, body image, and OCD. Rosie incorporates perspectives from counseling theories such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. 

​

 

In her free time, Rosie loves playing sports, playing guitar, and spending time with her three siblings.
