Michelle Aynes

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate

Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina. She graduated from East Carolina University’s Counselor Education program in 2024, receiving a Master of Science with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Michelle completed her graduate clinical experiences in the private practice setting, working with adolescents and adults. 


Michelle’s first priority with every client is to cultivate a foundation of safety and trust. Michelle believes in a holistic, collaborative approach to counseling, considering each individual’s emotional, physical, social, and spiritual health. Michelle specializes in trauma-informed therapeutic modalities, including somatic and attachment focused EMDR and Internal Family Systems therapy. She works with clients experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress, and frequently works with clients in the areas of self-compassion, embodiment, boundaries, and mindfulness. 


In addition to her work with clients, Michelle enjoys reading, walking, cooking, listening to music, practicing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
