Joy primarily provides clinical oversight to counselors within the practice. She also carries a very small caseload and offers clinical supervision to provisionally licensed clinicians across the state of North Carolina.

Joy began her counseling career in March, 2012 working with adolescents, adults, families, and groups in a private practice setting. Joy has also worked in a community mental health agency as Outpatient Therapist, Intensive In-Home Team Leader, Adult Services Program Manager, and Outpatient Therapy Program Manager. She opened Cornerstone Counseling and Wellness in January, 2019.
Joy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in the state of North Carolina (license #S9355), an EMDR Certified Therapist™, and a Board Certified TeleMental Health Professional (#1222). She received a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2011. She holds professional memberships in the American Counseling Association, EMDRIA, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and the American Association of Christian Counselors.
An adoptive parent of four, Joy has a passion for providing pre-adoption education and resources, as well as post-adoption counseling to address adoption-related issues. Joy's scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, the following areas: Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, Career & Educational, Depression, Family Relational Problems, Parenting, and Pre- and Post-Foster/Adoption Counseling and Trauma-Related Disorders. Joy believes that her clients are best served through a treatment team approach, and often collaborates with other providers (Primary Care Physician, Psychiatrist, School Staff, etc.) for optimization of treatment outcomes.
Joy enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and participating in church activities. She has been married to her husband, Bryan, since 1997. They have six children and reside in Raleigh, NC.
