Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate

Daniel is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (license #A20068) and has completed EMDR training. He has been practicing since January of 2023. Prior to his training as a counselor, Daniel completed a master’s in philosophy from Miami University of Ohio and a bachelor’s in English Literature, both of which complement his clinical insight and understanding of the human experience. He holds a firm belief that therapy must begin with the counselor’s willingness to listen carefully to client speech, emotion, and difference. He believes that each person’s individuality is expressed even and especially in the unique challenges they face.

His has experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, emotional dysregulation, personality disorders, and identity questioning. He believes in tailoring therapeutic models to client needs. These may range from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to psychodynamic psychotherapy which emphasizes the importance of self-understanding in the context of one’s relation to others. He has experience working with children (10+), adolescents, and adults.

Daniel believes that counseling is at its best when it empowers the client to find the freedom to realize their desire in the world and in their community. He believes the therapeutic relationship can be a transformative starting point for the client’s self-fulfillment.

In his spare time, you’ll find Daniel biking the Raleigh greenway system, reading a great book, or taking a hiking trip with his dog, Lucy.
