Carly is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina (License #A17328). She received her Masters of Mental Health Counseling Degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2021. Prior to that, she graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s in English and Minor in Communications before working as a healthcare advocate prior to her Master’s program.
Carly believes in collaborating with her clients on their journey to holistic wellness, and desires that her clients feel empowered by the therapeutic relationship. She values a warm and authentic counseling dynamic that takes into account the uniqueness of each client’s story when approaching treatment.
Her areas of interest include: Dissociation, complex PTSD, depression, anxiety, infertility, and women’s issues. She specializes in helping those experiencing Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and has a passion for walking with DID clients engaging in Christian community while living with the disorder. Carly is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly researched and effective modality for treating individuals who have experienced distressing life experiences. Additionally, her work with trauma survivors in the counseling room serves to support her role as a trauma-informed birth doula.
In her spare time Carly loves hanging out with her husband and two Shiba Inus, gardening, or going to the park with their foster children. Her volunteer work includes mentoring college students at her church and various volunteer positions with the International Society for the Study of Trauma & Dissociation.
